Construction and Cladding

Following on from the success of the 10 Days exhibition 18A has started a new project. Taking inspiration from the Tate Britain's Kurt Schwitters current show and Thomas Heatherwick's large scale structures, we are creating models for our own pavilions of the future.

Please post images of relevant structures or comments and if you like the sound of this kind of work for kids aged 8 - 11, be sure to come along to Paddington Arts after school on Mondays 5:00 - 6:00.

  1. Rockpanel Cladding is an additive manufacturing process that utilizes a laser to metallurgically bond performance coatings to a product's base material. The process uses the laser to create a shallow melt pool of the base material. The coating material is introduced into this melt pool in either powder or wire form. The energy from the laser subsequently melts the binding materials of the coating material resulting in a true metallurgical bond between the coating and the base material.
